Throwback Thursday : Marilyn Monroe

Today’s Throwback Thursday is a tribute to one of favorite actresses, who took the world by storm with her looks, her fashion, her acting and that little mole on her face. Yes, we are talking about the gorgeous Marilyn Monroe! That must have increased the temperature by 2 degrees atleast 😀

Marilyn, who was so famous for her sex appeal that all men went crazy for her, and the women tried copying her style! She was known for her roles in the movies “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” & “How to marry a Millionaire”. She also won a Golden Globe for her acting in the movie “Some Like it Hot”. Though, this was when she was in the peak of her career. Her struggle was noteworthy because she started as a pin up model. The trouble in her personal life, it never had a significant effect on her career where she progressed leaps and bounds.

Her photo, in which she posed for photographers while filming for the movie “The Seven Year Itch”, was one of the most famous photos in history. This also led to a statuette build in NYC of the same pose.

Marilyn also featured in more than 50 magazine cover pictures. She was regarded as a sex symbol, to which she said this “I never quite understood it, this sex symbol. I always thought symbols were those things you clash together! That’s the trouble, a sex symbol becomes a thing. I just hate to be a thing. But if I’m going to be a symbol of something I’d rather have it sex than some other things they’ve got symbols of”.

To end this we just have to say that, Marylin Monroe led a revolution in fashion and perception. She was a style icon, a revolutionary actress and a fashion role model in true sense. Our heartiest tributes to you.
